Aircon down in a heatwave?

When the cooling quits on the hottest day of the year, you want someone who actually turns up. RHINO repairs, replaces and installs evaporative and split system air conditioning across the Adelaide Plains and northern suburbs. Adam has come out on a Sunday in a heatwave to get a family cool again.

02What we cover

Evaporative and split systems.

Repairs when it quits, replacements when it is done and fresh installs when you want it right.

03Worth knowing

Evaporative or split? An honest take.

Both have their place in a South Australian home. Here is the plain version before you spend.

Evaporative cooling

Pulls in fresh air and cools it with water. In a dry SA summer it works a treat and costs a lot less to run, so it is kinder on the power bill. You do need a window cracked open. It will not heat in winter.

Split system

Uses refrigerant to cool, with a reverse-cycle unit heating in winter too. You get tighter temperature control, it copes on humid days and one unit can do a single room or the whole house.

Which suits you

There is no single winner. Adam looks at your home, your budget and how you live, then tells you straight which way makes sense rather than pushing the priciest unit on the van.

"Our aircon gave up during a heatwave on the Saturday of a long weekend. Adam came out on the Sunday to inspect it. I was really happy with the promptness. It needed a replacement so we booked in for three days later, he showed up on time, completed the replacement himself in the expected time frame and very well valued. Would highly recommend. Thanks Adam!"

Air conditioning questions.

My aircon died in the heat, can you come out?
Call Adam on 0409 936 336. A cooling breakdown in a heatwave is treated as a priority. He has turned up on a Sunday in the middle of a long weekend to get a family cool again.
Evaporative or split system, which is better?
In a dry South Australian summer, evaporative cooling works well and costs a lot less to run, but it cannot heat and needs a window open. A split system gives tighter control, works on humid days and a reverse-cycle unit heats in winter too. Adam advises which suits your home and budget.
Do you repair as well as replace?
Yes. Where a repair stacks up, Adam fixes it. Where the unit is past it, he will tell you straight and sort a replacement rather than charge you for a patch that will not last.
Can you service my evaporative cooler?
Yes. Pad changes, a clean and a once-over so it is ready before the hot weather hits, not after it has already let you down.
Will a split system heat in winter as well?
A reverse-cycle split system both cools and heats, so one unit keeps you comfortable right through the year.
